YOUNG Kaitlynn van Rooyen, is living proof that a disability need not keep one from realising one’s dreams that would even be hard to achieve by able bodied children.
Kaitlynn (8), who has cerebal palsy and is in Grade 2 at Cape Recife High School, recently finished the Pritt Iron Kids 2012 race together with other disabled little Iron athletes.
Kaitlynn uses a Kaye-walker and wears splints to assist her in walking correctly. She is able to walk on her own for short distances and will always first try to walk unaided.
She loves to participate in sport and is very outgoing. Reading her books at home especially her bible stories, watching TV and playing Xbox are some of the many things she likes to do.
