Charlo Primary School was founded in January 1974 and was named after the suburb in which it was built. The suburb was developed on a farm of the late Charles Lovemore. The name Charlo is derived from the first four letters of the owner's name and the first two letters of the owner's surname. The school had an initial enrolment of 21 learners in 1974 and through the years grew to be the school it is today. Today more than 500 learners find their happiness at Charlo Primary School.
